Compliments of Luigi Santoro

About Us
The Monticello story begins in Montella, Italy in the first half of the twentieth century with Luigi Santoro. This picturesque town in southern Italy is home to a quaint community with cultural richness. This is where the fine craftsmanship of Luigi Santoro originated. He began his career as a stone worker in the small quarry that is carved out of a mountain in which the town is situated. Here is where old world quality and excellence was instilled in his trade.
In 1960 Luigi saw the opportunity for further success for his family and set out for America. They settled in Norristown, Pennsylvania where Luigi continued his career as a stone worker. As the years went by the company grew and developed into a larger company that supplied, manufactured and installed not only stone, but all types of tile flooring and natural stone surfaces.
Luigi’s wife Maria joined the business and was able to cultivate the business even further. They were able to open a showroom and warehouses for manufacturing and storage of inventory. Because of their Italian heritage, they easily adapted to importing goods from overseas. They became the foremost supplier of exclusive and luxurious materials available in America.
These days the company thrives and is still family-owned and operated. Monticello is now managed by Luigi’s children, grandchildren and other family members as well. It still provides the highest quality in materials and craftsmanship. The manufacturing facilities have the most current technologies in machinery, equipment and production capability. With over fifty years of hard work and experience, the Santoro family provides the absolute best in unsurpassed service, expertise and artistry found in the stone industry today.
